A TV tuner is missing. I can't find a good TV tuner for my laptop. It has a DVD player. I could 86 my TV if there was a good TV tuner out there for a laptop.
You just opened yourself up for some abuse. Many sailors on this board feel there is no place for entertainment devices such as TVs on board other then a radio or cd player. I happen to agree with them. Get a good book. Even when I was a kid I didn't have a TV to watch and usually picked up a book as a result. Or enjoy the company of your crew with discussions and/or stories.Toi answer your question, I don't know of a tuner for a laptop. Check ebay.Tim ReilleyPortland, Maine
PCMCIA tuner cards are surprisingly hard to come by. This is the only one I found:http://www.cfoutlet.com/750511.htmlor, if you have a USB port, try this:http://www.compuplus.com/insidepage.php3?sid=5fd70y5u81rwpe4&id=1000461Hope this helps!!Keith
While the rain is washing the salt off the boat, it can't get any better than this.Hapugaue (sp) makes USB tv tuner for around $75-80, works like a charm. Also, use a laptop it serves as a DVD/TV and be used for other chart plotting duties. A flat screen is useful for one thing.JimS/V Java
I would never leave home without my TV! I like nothing better they sailing all day to a new location and seeing what TV stations we can pick up. It's almost as fun as getting there.
