My wife and I would like to sail on Lake Ontario this summer and visit at both Canadian and US yachts clubs + overnight anchoring in protected harbors.

We have an 8' draft to deal with and the water levels this year are low.

Looking for suggestions and review of places to visit / stay.

Cheers

sodus bay on the us side has several marina's and you can walk to the small village. there is a yacht club in pulneyville, although would be tricky in windy conditions to get in. also, rochester has yacht clubs and marinas on the genesee river.

You can visit my website listed in the signature below for a yacht club page that lists locations, website address, and reciprocal privileges. You should also pick up a copy of the PORTS for Lake Ontario book at your local ship store. The PORTS book is a must for cruising.

An 8 foot draft is quite deep and you will have problems at many areas on Lake Ontario. The PORTS book has depth listings under the yacht club information for each port.

Good luck and have fun!
