Well, it seems like I may have made a little mistake. I found this quaint little bay west of rochester, called "braddocks bay" My boats been slipped there all season, and while a bit on the shallow side, I've been pefectly fine from mid may until recently. I've noticed that the channel from the bay to the lake is getting trickier and tricker to navigate, needing more and more rudder rake to get through. I found this chart showing that the lake water level is begining it's decline about a month earlier than usual, which perhaps could hav been expected as the spring melt came early as well. For the lake sailors, a foot or two isn't a big deal, but for those of us who part the mud with our rudder tips often..we don't have a foot to spare!!
