Lots of good places for boaters
I grew up in Schenectady, NY. We used to vacation on Lake George all the time. One spot you've got to check out is Paradise Cove. I don't recall if you can overnight there, but it's a great lunch spot! Also, check with the EnCon Dept. They have a whole slew of camp sites that are only accessible by boat along the East shore North of the "Narrows". These sites all have docks, as well as the usual amenities of a campsite so you can sail during the day and gather 'round the campfire at night. There are also sites located on the many islands, although this late in the season you won't find any firewood on them. It's been so long I don't remember the name of the island, but there's an island in the narrows with a "ranger station" that takes care of the paperwork for these sites.Lake George can be a great place to sail, but if you're new to the lake, beware of sudden weather changes. Those storms can pop up over the mountains before you know it.ENJOY!!!
