in between boats for now Plattsburgh Boat Basin, Plattsburgh, NY
Need guidance.
I've tried searching for posts on how long it takes to go from Rouses Point, NY up the Richelieu river, and end up at the Pointe-Claire Yacht Club. but didn't find.
Also looking for detailed info on the canal/waterway depth, condition and estimated cost of trip. The Do's and Don'ts.
I want to bring my boat up to Montreal for a month next summer and would like to plan ahead.

I looked onto this a few years ago and the depth over the lock sills on the Richeleiu canal seem to be a limiting factor.

I did Montreal to Rouse's Point nine years ago in the company of two other boats. My H28 draws less than four feet. The other boats drew four to five feet. At no time was draft an issue.

Montreal to Sorel takes a day whichever direction you are going. I've done it both ways a few times. It takes longer against the current as you would expect.

The Richelieu took four days going up, including all the locks on the Chambly and the St. Ours lock.

Nice trip. Lots of history there.
