Lack of depth & speed readings

Just purchased a 86 30 tall rig. I have horizon wind & depth instruments on a pod on the pedestal. I am getting power to both, but only a flatline reading. No numbers. I just got the boat and have not had a chance to do any diagnoses. At haulout, the transducer appeared to ok as did the paddlewheel on the knotlog. I also have the wind direction indicator at the top of the mast. Same thing. Power, no reading or a constant number of 5 knots regardless of wind strength. Anyone have any suggestions about where to start. I plan to first trace all wires. Then????????????Thanks'

I had a similar problem once which turned out to be a second depth instrument when turned on intefered with the pedestal instruments. If your depth stuff isnt working as well as wind etc. this might be a possibility.GL

Had a simular problem with my 27 catalina. Turned out to be a power supply problem. Replaced batteries/ problem still occured, replaces one of the main battery cables and that was the culpret. Caused all sorts of odd things- depth
