My H-356 (2002 model) was delivered with a pair of Marinco premium shore-power cord sets. On one of the cords the red LED indicator light recently stopped working ... so I sent Marinco an email asking for advice on how to get the cord set repaired or replaced. A day later I got a response informing me that a new cordset was being shipped and that the old cord could be kept as a spare. Pretty amazing customer service, I'd say! Way to go, Marinco!

One up on you Pete.

Pete: I have a one up on you. As you may or may not know Marinco ownes Nicro and AFI. They happend to be located in Napa, CA. I purchased a Nicro PowerVent 3000 in May of 1995. It quit working about 2-3 years ago because the Nicad battery was bad. The model that I had did not allow the user to change out the rechargable battery. I called Nicro and explained the problem. The fellow I spoke with 'Dave' said that it was a dumb design and gave me an RMA for a new unit at NO CHARGE. As far as I am concerned this is above and beyond what need to be done. I will tell you that I will purchase Marinco products in the future too.

Hey Pete, that is a great idea...

I need a "smart Y", that is two male 30 amp to one female 50 amp 240 volt. West Marine has them for $409.00 (ouch!!!!)Maybe I will call marinco and tell them the one I have is defective and maybe they will send me a new one at no charge! What do you think! Just kidding! I had a similar experience with Shurflo pumps. I had a pump that went bad within a year. They sent me a new one and didn't want the old one back. There are still some companies that really stand behind their products.

Good service

You know with my yacht I have always got outstanding service from Greg at Hunter. As if I hadn't mentioned it before! But Kenyon, the stove manufacturers. Their service has been to date very poor. From within a month of taking delivery the stove went Kaaafooop. No flame no nothing no cups of tea thats for sure. An email to them in the states resulted in one girl telling me I would have to send the bad unit back!! and then a few days later her superiour emailing me saying don't worry about sending it back, we will just send over a new one. Responce to date from several months ago. You guessed it. "NOTHING" Getting used to soaking a tea bag in cold water for an hour and then drinking it.
