Kudos to ICOM and United Radio Service

Hi all, Hats off to ICOM and United Radio in E.Syracuse NY. I have an ICOM- m36 hand held VHF for probably 5 years, that stopped transmitting a month ago. I checked wf ICOM, they told me send to United Radio their repair service . They said go ahead and send it they warranty a lot of different components. I figured what the heck, sent it like 7-9-14 shipping cost 8$, I got it back today $$00.00, all fixed under warranty. Thats less than a 10 day complete turn-around. I gotta tell you its refreshing in this day and age to get service like this!!!! Thank you ICOM, and United Radio!! Keep up the good work. You have my business in the future. Paul Hille

That has not been my experience

I had the IC-M34 and it stopped receiving for some reason. The radio is a few years old but barely used. Mine was no longer in warranty. ICOM charges $92.00/hr to repair with a 1 hr minimum. If you reject the service or if they find nothing wrong its $46.00 to get your radio back. No thanks.

Hey Mark, I bought mine in april 09, thats 5yrs, same thing it would not recieve. Did you call united radio in syracuse ny? When I called them they said send it we will evaluate it and its a good chance its under warranty. they did not mention $$. To tell the truth I was expecting a call from them telling me it would cost x-amount, or its unrepairable...instead it came back fixed yesterday...united radio # is 866-877-3784....Red
