More than a month ago I noticed a small leak coming from my Dometic MSD. As It was 'charged' but not being "actively used", I put off the investigation. After testing last week, it was apparent that the upper tank had a crack where the hold down clips engage the holding tank.

I called Dometic customer service last Friday in the hope that they would help and, did they ever! The nicest lady took my call and listened to my plight. She then carefully verified the nomenclature of my particular unit (color, model, size, etc.) and then asked for my address, etc. Without asking for a serial number or a receipt, she told me the replacement would ship out Monday... It arrived Thursday!:wow:

Nothing in my boating experience matches this outstanding level of customer service.
Oh, if only all manufacturers (Merc outboard engines , an example of the opposite:cussing:) operated the way that Dometic did in my case.

Just thought you all would like to know.

Peggie, are you implying that a totally self-contained, modular, space saving, easily cleaned, full sized and fully legal MSD of polymer construction should be called a "Porta Potty"? ;)

It's better than some other names I've heard for it!:D:eek:

Serious question: which model is it and how old was it?

It's a 5.2 gal holding tank, model 965 MSD, "about a year old".
