Kubota?

I have repeatedly heard that a Universal M-25 is a Kubota D-850, and that all internal parts (injectors, pistons, etc.) are the same. According to the Diesel guy, I need new injectors. Price from Universal - $196.00; Price from Kubota - $52.00! Are they really the same?

Mike,Universal converted the Kubota D-850 for marine use. All of the engine parts are the same. The external parts like the water pump, exhaust manifold, damper are not Kubota parts.Best,Denny Fegansdennisf@aol.com

Is Beta also a Kubota marinized?

What about the Beta Marine diesel? Is it also based on the Kubota diesel? Has anyone had any experience with the Beta?

Yes it is a Kubota

And from what I see they do a very good marinizing the engine. They put very nice features into it also. Like a built in hand pump to change the oil, etc.If I was to repower, I would seriously cosider the Beta marine. the people I have met seem to be very helpful also
