What river goes to Moscow from Helsinki? I thought river went from Moscow to Caspian Sea?:evil:

Hi Ed! Vikings are Norwegians, not Finns :)
We will have following route: Gulf Of Finland - St. Peterburg - Neva river - Ladoga lake - Svir river - Onega lake - Volga-Baltic navigation canal - Sheksna river - Rybinsk reservoir - Volga river - Moscow navigation canal. It's about 2000 km and about 15 shipping locks. You can use maps.google.com to trace this route.

Yes, I have already looked. However, and very important, I cannot see what you will see following sailing route of ancient Russians.

Take many pictures and write travelog!

A couple of years ago on this very forum a couple sailing from American Great lakes to Florida and beyond wrote travelog of their journey. Sending pictures and verbal description of trip. It is great to receive such story with pictures as it happens.

We will all be waiting for your story! Our Russian Viking! Wasn't Russian founded by Vikings? As we read history, Vikings were people from north not limited to Norwegians. We need to find you head gear of vikings!

Again, we all appreciate your story of rebuilding your O'Day sailboat and will enjoy your stories of sailing in Russia.

Konstantin will be known around the world thanks to O'Day forum and Capt. Herring.
