Peggy, my husband thinks it's OK to add KO to the holding tank when we first launch her---without pumping the pink stuff out well beforehand. I think he's wrong. I know you should not mix things-----but he doesn't think that means the pink stuff. ???

You win this one, Carol

All the antifreeze must be thoroughly flushed out of the whole system before adding K.O. or anything else to the tank. There's so much alcohol in the "pink stuff" that the bacteria in K.O. will die just about on contact....it's just a waste of money to use K.O. before flushing the antifreeze out of the system.

I missed this one

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but what is the purpose of adding KO to the tank? To kill bacteria, or remove the "pink" taste? Or both?

Taste

Steve, If you're drinking liquid from the holding tank, the taste of the pink stuff is the least of your worries.

The WASTE holding tank, Steve, not the water tank

K.O. is a live bacteria holding tank product that works with the naturally occuring bacteria in waste to prevent odor and break down paper and solids. Don't even THINK of putting it in the water tank!
