I have the original knot meter for 1975 25 ft mkI c&c. It does work once I get over two knots but it does not reset to zero. It does move freely and the paddle wheel spins freely as well. Is there any way to fix it so it returns to zero? A watchmaker looked at it and said that the counterbalance needs a little bit more weight. I have tried using the calibration screw and it was already clocked all the way over. I have disconnected the wires and pulled it out of the boat to look at it as well and it still does not swing back to zero. Is there anything else I can do before adding a dab of glue to the counterbalance?
