I have recently developed a vibration that seems to emanate from the area of the shaft packing area. at 1200 to 1500 rpm, whether the shaft is turning or not I get a loud knock. If I manually pull up slightly on the packing gland, the noise and vibration go away. Operating at any other RPM there is no noise or vibration. Any ideas?
