i own a kirby 30 that has been dismasted. i have another piece in which to repair. these kirby 30's have a history of dismasting, mostly due to rig failure and/or running backstay failure (not using it fast enough). i want to re-rig the mast, possibly making it a double spreader rig and adding another lower, lower on the mast. i would appreciate it if anyone has any info on k-30's or some advice on this project. my boat was deck stepped but i am going to add enough to keel step it. it has a isomat ng 31 mast or it is a cinkel kockoff. i am going to sleeve it, rivet, and alunimum weld the seam. any suggestions?

Are you the new owner of this boat or are you trying to sell it? I saw a for sale Halifax Kijiji ad for a Kirby 30 with a broken mast in St. John so this must be the boat. email me with confirmation on way or another if you don't mind.
