I like materials that are low maintenance, high durability, and UV resistant (in this case nearly impervious). King Starboard is pretty expensive, but luckily I can get this material from a local industrial plastics supplier at pretty reasonable rates. Its the same stuff, made by the same manufacturer, just labeled and sold as 'Marine Grade HDPE SeaBoard or StarBoard'.
Anyway, here are a few pics from general image searches for 'King Starboard Projects' that get my creative juices flowing. Feel free to post personal projects, comments, or requests.

I am an owner of Plastic Supply of PA, Inc, Pottstown, PA and we manufacture Cruisin Hardtops that are 1/2 thick Seaboard Dodgers and Biminis. Oven heat formed, CNC machined components, and hot air welded construction. Go to www.canvascreationsinc.com for applications. I'm attaching a few photos. You need a hot air welder and matching welding rod.

Base for a swivel cam cleat for the roller furling line. This Starboard base replaced a plywood base that I was having trouble keeping in good condition.

"Bow pulpit platform..."

Please provide more info on how you did this. How is it attached to the bow? Are there any supports that can't be seen? Etc.

1" Starboard (HDPE). Cut with skilsaw, jigsaw, and finished with files (not sandpaper)
Counter sunk holes for SS carriage bolts, thru to backing plates.
The supports are Starboard fitted to the contours of the bow, 3M 5200 sealant.
The supports are fastened with 2.5" #10 SS screws in countersunk holes from beneath.

Dang! Some pretty killer projects posted so far! I hope one of the mods sees my request to move this thread to 'ask all sailors'... I posted it here by some stupid mouse click error!

I hate hatch boards! One of the first things I did after I bought this boat was to build a companionway door out of starboard. One thing I learned from doing so is that starboard, and I assume the others, contract and expand to a significant degree with the temperature. One should keep that in mind if installing something in a cooler climate then sailing off to the warmth of the tropics.

Many of the items mentioned so far can be bought from Boatoutfittersdotcom.
I have no connection with the company... Just a well known provider in Florida of such items who will make whatever to your specs if they don't have the item in your size.
