I want to paint all topsides. Curious about any experience with jet glo. how to paint it? air or HVLP what have you used? where should I look? I can 't be the only one that wants to paint by themselves. Porter@lce.com or on here so others can read thanks porter h33 Cynara

Never considered spraying.

Will need to do this in a year or two. But I have never considered anything but the roller/tipping method. I have seen this done in my marina with excellent results. I get most of my detail from the HOW site or books recommended by folks on the HOW site. Sailnet is also a good source. Check the link below.

Jet Glo, Not very forgiving

I'm not much of a sailor yet but I am an aircraft mechanic/painter of 10 years. Jet Glo is good paint but it is very tempermental.Temp/humidity/the correct reducer are very critical. The proceedure for spraying JetGlo and AcryGlo are very different from most all other paints. Solvent popping is the most common problem associated with these PRATT&LAMBERT products. I am still a Binks#7 fan but HVLP guns have come a long way in the last few years. You might consider US PAINT also known as ALUMAGRIP it is a very high grade paint and my personal choice(at least on my aircraft). Hope this helps.

What is jet glo?

Portor, I have done my topsides with an hvlp. Worked great but I used Brightsides. r.w.landau
