Following is the text of a message I received last night. You may wish to visit his website as the photos are quite graphic and sad. One sailor's dream dashed by the ocean. Pete Hi Watch: Just to update you on s/v Kim Chow. Glenn encoutered a large storm on Wednesday April 23rd, which rolled the boat. Due to the damage on the boat, he was unable to continue. Glenn is fine, and has been taken aboard an Argentinian navy ship. Glenn has been seen by a doctor on the boat and is fine. The fate of Kim Chow is still unknown. MaryLou, Glenn's wife, is updating the http://kimchowaroundtheworld.com website as news comes in from Glenn. Although this is a very sad ending to a wonderful adventure, the most important thing is that Glenn is well. Best regards, Ron

Bummer ----

Sad to see a sailor's plans and dreams end when a boat rolls over. High Latitude sailing can be a royal and frightening bitch due to the intensity and sudden ferocity of the weather unlike the weather down in the lower latitudes. Its the 'geometric squashing' of all those weather systems that makes 'life interesting' in the high latitudes. My heart goes out to him. Lets all hope that he simply returns safe .... and starts out all over again.
