Sum... It is a small world. I lived in Springfield for a few years... Moved to Chicago... Then bought my Mac from someone in Joplin.

I am headed down to the keys over the kids Christmas break... We are using the marina at Bahia Honda state park as our launch and home base. We have at least one night at the beginning and one night at the end of our trip in the marina $2/foot for slip, power, water, pump out all included.
Still am working out the details as to where our route will take us on the water, but that can be flexible once we get there.
I like the idea of having someplace to run in bad weather... More importantly, the admiral likes that idea.

Thanks for the update on your Florida trip Sumner. I am taking notes...

atwhite.

Are you sure you can leave the car and trailer in the park, when you are not paying for a slip?

grassy key marina, and sea bird marina (long key), both have trailer parking and decent ramps. but grassy key has a power line over the ramp, that requires you to raise the mast, just before you head down the slope... (not a great staging area).

Bill...

Oops... I didn't think about the gap in days and leaving my trailer, I thought it sounded too good... Need to rethink that plan
Thanks for bringing that to my attention... Would have been slightly upset to come back to no car or trailer...
