Key for My 2GM20

I am trying to find a new key for my Yanmar engine. It is a 2GM20 and my local hardware store has been unsuccessful at getting me a replacement.Is this something I need to get from a lock smith or can I find them online somewhere?

Almost any key will do

I was in the same situation. Yanmar told me to use any blank that is similar because all Yanmar keys were the same - even if they were cut. Yanmar does sell them for about $25. They said that I could even use a screw driver to start it up (I did that and screwed up the ignition). So I bought a new ignition for $35 and got two new keys. See if you can find a similar blank and give it a try - but don't force it.New control panels now use a tubular key, but I don't know if they are universal.Good Luck

Saab key blank

My local locksmith found that a Saab auto key he had matched. He cut me a few of them (what the heck) and then I found my partner was using a masterlock key (looked similiar) off the key ring instead. Turns out a popsickle stick would probably do.Good luck.
