Kenyon wind instruments-replace or repair

Like everything on my 1979 Hunter 30' the Kenyon wind direction and wind speed indicators have stoped working and the company has discontinued product and limited itself to Stoves. I found a company that services the product but at their bench price, it would be more economical to junk.My question is: Can I replace the mast indicators with a generic version and will the generic 4 lead wire down drive the 6 wire insturments.Its been to cold to go down to the boat and play with this to answer the question plus my batteries are pulled.Thanks

Most likely not.

It seems very unlikely that another companies transducers would work with your instruments. Have you checked to see if you can buy just the mast parts(transducers)? What brand will sell you that.Or do I have this reversed, you think the transducers are OK and want to replace the displays? Since wind speed is counting revolutions of a magnet across a sensor some things have to match. If only one magnet and one sensor then only the diameter matters. But you can see there are other possibilities like two magnets. Maybe the company that you are trying to do business with could answer that.
