In my 1974 H25, I have the original Alcohol Stove. Last season it worked great. This year, the right burner continually leaks alcohol, causing major flare ups, loss of pressure, and inability to use the left burner. I've tried to tighten the packing nut, but it doesn't seem to work. If I take the cap off, I can watch alcohol squirt out of the little pin hole, when the control valve is OFF. Has anybody tightened this control? Any suggestions, short of buying a new range top are appreciated. Ike 'Freebie'

Kenyon rebuild

Kenyon sells rebuild kits. They are available from West Marine, among others. But, they are not cheap. I spent quite a bit on parts for my old Kenyon, just like you may. Instructions came with them. Finally, I got an Origo, and only regret the time and money spent on the old Kenyon.I spent more than half of what the Origo cost on Kenyon spares. Incidentally, I had happily cooked on and maintained the Kenyon for more than fifteen years, mostly living aboard, so I am not one of those prejudiced against pressurized alcohol. But, there is a better, safer way. However, if your stove model and mine are the same, perhaps I can dig up the parts I never used and make you a deal! My email address is: tims@cabomarina.com.mx
