Keeping Stern Lazarette Dry

I have a 1990 Beneteau O430 with 2 lazarettes on the swim platform. They both collect water when we are underway. There is a drain where the swim ladder is. We have tried plugging it, put a venturi to direct water away from it - all to no avail

Has anyone been successful in keeping water out of them

Those lockers take water over their hatch covers, they're designed to stow your flippers and trophy catches. The British refer to them as beer coolers.

Hi,
On my boat, these lazarettes are not at the water level, I have 15" -18" clearance to the stern water line. My swim ladder sits between them and the drain is in that compartment.
