My previous post referred to "Skegs" I should have used the correct name Keelsons. So, my question is: How far apart are the keelsons on a 565? Thanks, Brian "My Way" #939

565 trailer

Hi Eric, Thanks for your reply. You have answered one of my questions and that is where the weight is centered. I assumed it was equal on the keelsons and that was the logical place to put supports for the hull. My dilemma is that I acquired the boat last Oct and had to have it deposited immediately in the water before I acquired a trailer of my own. I now have to remove her from the marina and trail her home - not too far. The trailer I just acquired, and have stripped same to paint it etc., is I now think, on the light side being rated to carry only 1000 pounds. (When I bought the trailer, I had a weight figure of 1000 pounds for the 565 in my mind). Is it too light? Being an ex-owner you might be able to give me some direction on this matter. My sailing budget is slim to start with and I can't afford a new trailer hence the used one. Since I acquired this trailer I have, fortunately or unfortunately, discovered another one which can carry a greater payload so I have this problem. Do I retain the lighter one or get the heavier one? Your advice would be appreciated. Regards, Brian

Trailer info

Thanks Eric for your reply and very helpful information. I'll have to bite the bullet and get the bigger trailer. Thanks again, Brian ps: If you ever get out here to the Okanagan look me up.

Was there at New Year!

LOL I was at Kelowna the week leading to New Years, just passed. We were skiing at Big White! I love it out there. We've been twice! Ya, one day I might like to come out in the summer and sail on Okanagan! Lovely part of the world! Thanks Eric
