I just bought a Oday 22. Are all 22s fixed keels ordo some swing? How do you tel the difference?

1974 a fixed

I have a 1974 and it has a fixed keel - the later models have a swing keel -I'm not sure what year they made this modification and I have never seen one, but have read some articles about them and repairing this feature, (right here on this forum). Search the archives for more info.Algae

Mine is a swing keel...

...it's a 1982. The swing keel will have a centerboard rope in the cockpit just in front of the companionway. The rope goes through a slanted standpipe that is just in front of the companionway inside the cabin. The swing keel model draws 1 ft 3 in, or 4 ft 3 in with the board down. I think the fixed shoal keel model draws 1 ft 11 in.
