Tim: Thanks for the feedback on the relative stability of the centerboard and non-centerboard (mine) models. It does sound like any difference is moot. I think I decided what to do. Going for a centerboard O22 would mean changing my boat, which I have grown fond of, and have no complaints. It would be a big move for the easier launching. And if I did do this, I would keep my horrible old trailer. I'm very happy with the pointing ability of my fixed keel version, if only because I have not had the oportunity to try the centerboard model! But I can always get where I want to go, and I do not race. So I can live without the centerboard itself. So if I were to get a different boat, in effect I would be changing the best part of the package, and keeping the worst (the trailer). Instead of doing this, I'm going to find a drop axle trailer, and modify it for my boat. I'm even thinking I may buy a pair of drop axles, and weld one up from scratch. I'll get the 7" (or more) that way, and hopefully it will be low enough to allow launching on some of the shallower lake ramps in the area. Rich.
