Hi all. I sure need some help? This July I bought a 1979 Oday 30 and had it survayed for insurance purposes. Also had it surveyed for rigging and the diesel surveyed as well. All was fine except for a 2 by 6 inch delamination at the trail edgr of the keel. Surveyor said should be okay to sail until fall lift out.??? Our first shake down cruise we came out into 25 knots with 3 to 5 ft chop. My admiral went down below and came out fast. The cabin sole was making terrible noises of tearing fiberglass. We where starting to take on a small amount of water. We downed sail and motored to shelter. Lifted boat out and glass was ground down through 9 layers and the cracks extended approx. 30 inchs from the trail edge forward on both sides of the keel. This was layered and faired. The keel still makes noise and I suspect the stringers under the cabin floor have been compromised. The cabin sole is showing signs of cracking. Anyone. My thanks in advance. Mysticwind
