Keel Modifications

I got a lot of great responses to my posting "Reducing Tenderness" in the 34. One suggested modifing the keel by adding a wing and some additional weight about 650 pounds. Has anyone else tried a keel modification to improve the tenderness of the 34. Mine is a 1984 model shoal draft.

Wing added to 34 shoal version

There is a fellow that stores his 34 at our marina in the winter. He added a "wing plate" on the bottom of his keel. If you look in the owners directory, under minnesota, his name is stan sroga of lakeville mn. You can email him thru the directory. Dont mean to impose on stan, but this may be a source of information on his results of "wingn it" Good luck. Craig
