There is a thin rust mark following most of my keel joint(cast iron). Is this a pressing issue? The bottom will just get some more Micron CSC added this spring and will have the whole bottom stripped in the fall. This will be epoxied the following spring and covered with VC. I would like to do the minimum this year and complete bottom job next year. Concerned about the corrosision.

Why bother with a bottom coat of Micron? Scrub the hull to freshen the anti-fouling and launch.

You can prep the hull in the fall, but you need consistent warm weather to prep and coat the keel. Bottom paint will need to go onto a tacky barrier coat. Otherwise you sand again.

Agree with Gunni..... don't bother with painting this season. I am planning on having my hull blasted in the fall so I will not paint this spring. Will just clean her up... will clean and spray the prop though and zincs and ready to go! I have a diver clean the boat a couple times over the summer so I will be fine especially because there remains plenty of paint.
Regarding the rust..... I would not be overly worry about it. Take a look and inspect, however if you are going to strip the bottom next year do all the work then. Assuming of course that there are no holes and water pouring into your boat at the joint that is...... pictures are great!

Good Luck
