Greetings! My buddy and I sail his ODay 27 (1978) often in BC's Straits of Georgia. As he has moved here recently from the fresh waters of the Great Lakes, we still have a lot of water to ply. My question is: In the aft of his boat's bilge, there are two large ring-bolt (eye-bolt) heads sticking up on a slight lower (fore) to upper (aft) angle, from the keel base. Are these used only in the construction of the boat, maybe to move the hull while building, or could they be somebody's idea of fixes to the keel bolts? I ask because they seem to be, because of their corroded condition, to be of mild steel, and not some SS. If I am seeing an example of the condition of the other keel bolts, then I have to give him the bad news. Anyone else have these, and do you know what they are for?
