Salvage M25 for sale

Hi -- it may cost more than it's worth, but there is a 1986 M25 listed on eBay that could provide you a keel. I have seen this one listed before, so they are having trouble selling it. Could be just what you're looking for in terms of a keel to work with.

Good luck ...

Who knows he might be willing to part it out for you. He could make more money by parting it out and it looks like he has the room.

Mickey, I don't want to beat a dead horse but shouldn't your sunken keel show up on sonar. It seems to me that a fish finder should be able to locate it even if it is covered with silt. Depending on the settings my old Garmin shows the layers of sediment based on density. An even more sophisticated one would locate spot it by shape. Once narrowed down a metal detector in a water tight baggy should pinpoint it. Just a thought.
Wish I were back there to help out, it could be a fun adventure.

I've spoken to the guy on eBay - he's not too keen on parting out (I've already asked before) - but you might want to try negotiating with him on the price - he's had it listed on eBay before, and it went down with zero bids - and if he's close enough, a road trip would get you what you need, plus some extras to sell off to make up some of the moeny you're putting out.

Thanks guys for all the advice and information. All of it was taken into consideration then I moved right on to plan "D".

I aquired another "Good Old Boat" in the form of a 1986 Fairwinds 27 made by Luger Boats. It was a project boat that the owner lost interest in and I am in the process of making it "my new boat".

I will be parting out the Mac 25 for items that will fit this boat and selling off any other items that someone might be interested in.

Coming from the Mac to the Luger will be the tiller/rudder, stern railing, bow pulpit rail, lifeline sanctions, tiller pilot, cockpit cusions, batteries, radio, mast, boom, head sail roller furler, pop top, water tank, V-Berth cusions and ground tackle. About the only thing left to the Mac will be the keeless hull.

I will post pictures along the road to making her ship shape.

Again, thanks for your help.

Thanks for the heads up...

Hey Calguy,
Thanks for the heads up on the keel...but I have already made other plans and will be parting out the boat for a new project I have started. This one doesn't look to be in much better shape then the one I lost. Cast Iron and saltwater was not one of Roger's better ideas. Thanks again for thinking of me.
