Han anyone ever fair their keel? I race my C-30 and would like to hear from other racers. The cost of a template seems a bit prohitive, so I will be doing it by eye. It seems to have low and high spots. Using 80 grit sandpaper, I have started to sand. Not sure if I am down to the lead, but it is grey. At this point, I am ready to use some fairing stuff to fill in the lows. I could keep sanding and make the highs as low as the lows, but think I should use some kind of filler. The problem is the low spots still have VC-17 on them, as do the minor nicks and digs. Since VC-17 is meant to repel just about anything, how do I get it out of the low spots? Any help appreciated. Also any suggestions on how to get the best shape, where to concentrate (front/rear, etc)
