My keel cable (26S) came off the keel. My boat is in a sleep which is about 5.5 ft deep. I don't have time to fix it now and was just wondering if it is ok to sail the boat. My fear is to get the keel stuck when backing out of the slip. Thanks B.
Ben, I have gotten my 26s stuck in my marina several times. I would probably still be out there trying to get it unstuck if my keel cable didnt work. Also, if you are in salt water, you run the risk of barnacles. Not a problem when your keel is down, but when you lift it up, it could wedge shut. Good luck.
