I have a 1985 Catalina 30 and am getting ready to check the keel bolts. A friend mentioned they need to be tightened with a torque wrench to a precise measurement. Does anyone know what torque to tighten these bolts to? Thanks Robert B:confused:

I have the same model boat. When I sought out information on this topic about 7 years ago, the "knowledgeable consensus was 65 ft lbs. In the last few years, the 105 ft. lb. figure has been introduced. The 1985 C30, I believe, was the last model with the wood stub beneath the bilge. I cannot help but wonder whether Catalina recommends different torques depending upon whether there is the wooden stub (1985 and earlier) or whether this area is solid fiberglass (1986-present). For what it is worth, I have continued to use the 65 ft. lb. figure. A phone call to Catalina, however, should resolve this issue.
