What is the specified keel bolt torque for a 1978 fin-keel Hunter 30? And is there a manual for the boat out there? I just bought mine and find that Hunter is of little help and data is kind of hard to find. Thanks for all the help and advice!

Yours might vary. Hunter told me that the torque was 300 ft/lbs. Hope that is a help.

Torque is cheap!
Have a look through the archives. There are many previous posts on this topic and the following was an excerpt from one post: "This winter I contacted Hunter for torque specs and got this response which might interest boats of different sizes. I will tighten to specs now while it is on the hard." 3/8" = 21 ft. lbs 1/2" = 45 ft. lbs 5/8" = 97 ft. lbs 3/4" = 132 ft. lbs 1" = 325 ft. lbs 1-1/4" = 546 ft. lbs Should you have bolts of 1" or greater your going to need some special torquing equipment, not your average hardware store stuff!!!
