Keel bolt torques
Jim, I received these torque values from Hunter Customer Service earlier in April.3/8" = 21 ft/lbs1/2" = 45 ft/lbs5/8" = 97 ft/lbs3/4" = 132 ft/lbs1" = 325 ft/lbs1 1/4" = 546 ft/lbsI question the 1" and 1 1/4" values since they are so high, but I didn't have to worry about them since my 30T has 5/8" bolts. They also confirmed my thoughts about the "fix" for the cracks between the keel and hull -- suggesting "grinding a small groove in-between the keel and hull joint and filling this with 3M 5200". The yard was going to repair with epoxy putty which I thought would be too brittle. I found out yesterday, after getting back in water and checking things out, that I was getting some seawater seeping into my bilge through the cracks. The 5200 should be flexible enough so as to prevent cracks from forming again.
