searched high and low for the answer and the boat is an hour away so I thought I would ask you Guys. I saw water seeping out of the keel-hull joint moments before launch this spring and mentioned to my wife what would happen if the keel fell off and now it is on her mind. I know the real solution is to drop the keel and re-bed but the immediate need is to reassure her that the bolts are tight and the keel is solid.

I have read in various posts that the best thing is a deep 6 point impact socket but I just need to know what size to buy.

Thanks,

Dan

Harbor freight sells a 5 pack big impact set 1"-1 1/16"-1 1/8" -1 3/8" -1 1/4" my boat was the 1 3/8" except one at very stern was 1 1/8" so you May need more than one as well . I stopped slow leek and was able to finish out season by removing 1 at time and packing with water proof marine puddy bought from west marine then over winter hall out and fixed right and glassed in a skirt all way around keel

For anyone else searching, mine were 1 1/8". Need about a 10" extension to get above the cabin sole if you want to crank on them.
