This was sent to me by Hunter some 20 years ago :
There's nothing magic about these figures, they're just the max. allowable stress for each dia. of the SS keel bolts. Hunter, Bene, Cat, or what have you. And that means they had better have the correct backing (washers) behind the keel bolt nuts to prevent compressive damage to the FG stub.
I don't know what the competency of your boatyard is but you might want to ask them how they check the existing bolt torque. If the term "breakaway friction" doesn't come up, you might as well not bother having the torques checked and save your money.
WIth the money you've saved, you can then purchase a torque wrench, find some good instructional material on torque testing and do it yourself. The procedure is extremely simple.
Just remember to do it on the hard.
