So far I cannot get any info. at all out of the Slidell area. Phone service is totally out of the question so far.I fully expect my house and boat are gone. If I can find any info. will post it here, and would appreciate any info. anyone else can come up with.

There is a weather site ,crownweather.com , that has some links to live feed tv and radio stations. Click on Tropical and then scroll down. There is a wealth of info on this site. Hope you are wrong about loosing house and boat, but considering all I have seen here in the Mobile Bay area.... All I can see of my Catalina 30 the mast sticking up out of the water. If you are in a safe place stay there until the police will let you back in to Slidell. I have heard that New Orleans is completely closed off until at least next Monday. Biloxi has some of their Casinos completey out of the water and across the Hiway from where they originally were. It is a real big mess from New Orleans all the way to Pensacola Florida. I wish you well.

New Orleans is 80 percent under water and more water is going in. Several breaches in the levy, one of at least 200 feet wide. People are on roofs being rescued by the Coast Guard. Best of luck.

I have a boat that I keep at Point Cadet Marina in Biloxi. I moved it to the back bay area for the hurricane, but I have not had any word yet as to what happened. Does anybody have any idea how boats in the back bay area did? ajp

Point Cadet Marina... is it still there?
ALAN J We keep our boat at the same marina as you do but have no word yet. I am unfamiliar with your area (we live in P'cola Fl.) however by the time my husband got over to MS to move the boat (can't say where he is exactly) he had to ride out the storm on board Yikes! Seas were too rough & there was not enough time to bring it to P'cola... YIKES! He is fine but the boat got some damage but he said via cell phone that the small channel where he was located there were at least 40-50 boats all piled on one another in the middle of the channel so he is not sure if he will be able to navigate around them to get back to Point Cadet IF there is even a marina left. We are also wondering if his truck will still be there as it is parked on the 2nd story of the Isle of Capri Casino parking garage. Now I cannot get through to his cell phone because of the damaged cell towers etc. If anyone has info on Point Cadet Marina or Isle of Capri Parking Garage Structure I would appreciate it. Thanks

Nice & Easy, My boat is in Bayou Castine, in Mandeville. I can't get any word from there either. I am assuming the boat is gone, but can't get int to confirm that. I was there Saturday and secured the boat as best I could. If anyone has news of the Bayou Castine / Mandeville area, I would appreciate it.

The route 10 bridge out of New Orleans (pretty long one) is destroyed. A chopper just flew the entire length and it was destryed, both spans. Paul

I have two relatives who both had houses in Bay St. Louis, MS. Both houses were destroyed. I am assuming that my sailboat, even though I brought it to the back bay area, is lost.

I had a H37c at Southern Marina on Dog River. Here's a quote from the Mobile Register web site: "At the Dog River Bridge marina, sailing masts pointed in all directions and some boats had floated into woods. The bridge was lined with cars of people coming to gawk or try to recover their boats" I suspect one of those masts is mine....:{ Any news would help RS

I am not familiar with this area, but this video has extensive pictures of the whole coast from Long Beach to Point Cadet, including the torn up bridge to Ocean Springs. Hope this helps those of you searching for info.

Biloxi Lighthouse
Sherry, the video link you provided is truely remarkable. I've watch much on TV today, and nothing covers it as well as this helicopter trip west along the MS gulf coast. Did you notice that the Biloxi Lighthouse still stands? This iron lighthouse was built in 1847, and looked untouched right in the middle of destroyed highways and buildings. Amazing!

should have said that even though the nice folks on the power boat said lots of the marina was there.... although they did not specify.... I am assuming the offices etc are all destroyed but that is only assumption. I was mainly speaking of the boat slips.

Any word on Dog River, Mobile
Is there any word yet on the Dog River? My boat is at the Grand View/Beachcomber on the south side under the bridge. The few people I can get in touch with down south can't spare the gas to go look!

Big water in Dog River
I too have been desperately seeking info on Dog River. My Brother went down yesterday and indicated that water reached the restruant at Grand Mariner. Murray Yachts at Sundowner is a total loss. My Hughes 38, according to other friends, departed Sundowner and is at large in the river. Interistingly, my best friend's Morgan 35 (hull #1) up-river. I have many friends on the river and am eager to hear about their homes. Have searched all over and no one is reporting on anything in south Mobile County other that Bayou LaBatre.
