I have just installed a kato davits on my 423.
My dinghy and motor on the stern-side of the dinghy have a 200lbs load.
The rail support tubes which run down from the pushpit rail to the transom sugar-scoop flex and cause some flexing of the fibre glass in the scoop however only when I am raising or lowering the dinghy.
I placed a support tube from the pushpit into the cockpit but has minimal effect.
Just wondered if there are others that have had the same problem and what they did about it.

Same set up, no problems. If you have concerns, add a backing plate to your base mounts to spread the load.

Thats alot of load for those davits.....especially in a seaway. I love my Katos on my C385....but have downgraded my 15hp to a 6 just for that reason.
Have never seen the "sugar scoop" flex.

Thank you for the reply. To eliminate the flexing I think I will need to install an additional tube, one end attached to the support, angled 90 degrees to an attachment point on the combing.
