Hi all - Getting ready for my winter/wet storage and had a questions about deicers: Has anyone here had any experience re-building the bearing, seal and shaft assembly of a Kasco de-icer? My unit is about 5 years old and when I run the motor, it is making a sound that indicates a worn or damaged motor bearing or seal. A dealer wants about $200 to rebuild the unit and I am sure the parts are a lot less. Thanks - Rob

Rob- That is'nt a bad price to to have them take care of your problems with your de-icers. I have sent them back to Kasco for customers and it cost more if you consider shipping. The cost of the oil that the motors are surrounded in is $13 a quart and you will need 3+. Parts + Time and Labor = ? Give Kasco a call, see what they will charge you. Rob Hessenius
