This thread is 6 years old. Might want to start a new one. I recommend using a suction pump to change out the oil. Faster and cleaner and you won’t have to worry about plug gaskets

I am still more curious on the scuttlebutt about whether you are supposed to check the oil level (with the original plastic cap) with the cap screwed in or just left sitting on top.
Just read my shop technician manual ( large three ring binder with a lot of detail). It specifically stated to check it without screwing the cap down.
