I am having difficulty visualizing how this works. The boat is currently on a trailer and I don't see how I will have enough room to work on the centerboard. You are a great help and I thank you for your time. I can hardly wait until the boat gets wet. Thank you very much! David

Jacking the boat up -

David - You were talking about taking the boat to a yard, so I assumed they were assiting you with a travel lift or something similar. If so they lift the boat, you pull the trailer, they put stands under the boat and you go to work. If you're going to do it yourself you're looking at a lot more time. You'll need the jackstands, and a couple of heavy-duty screw or bottle jacks, along with a bunch of planks and blocks. Then its a question of jack a bit and block it, then go to the other end and jack it and block it - then repeat. I've done this; it makes me very nervous. If you want to, feel free to drop me a line. My number is 207.878.9657. I think you're five hours behind me. I'm going sailing for a while today, but I'll be in and out all evening. If you don't get me, leave your number I'll call you back.
