When I purchased my 82 Hunter 33 last year, I didn't know Cherubini from Houdhini. I just plain "fell in Love" with her. I loved the exterior look with the low stern freeboard and the versatility of the interior layout. I sailed Narraganset Bay for many years and always admired the looks of the old Pearsons and Bristols. I had no idea that I was purchasing the equivalent of Stueben- signed Carter Glass (fiber). This group is not elitist but rather represent quite a few proud sailors. Granted, we have more maintenance on our hands but the look of a well maintained Cherubini is a sight to behold!!

Classic understatement!

Just six weeks from launch. And more maintenance than I would ever had guessed, just to get the H37C in the water! Then I leave too much for after it's in the water. Because it's so much fun to sail her I never get the rest of the projects done. I guess as long as she looks good and outruns the Catalinas the work can wait. :)

She just keeps going

I have owned a h-33 for 8 years. She still amazes. When sailing on other boats I still wonder what wrong with them. Mine just leans over to a point and sails away

Hunter 33, 1978

Do I own the only sloping deck Hunter 33? Mine is the only one I have ever seen. Most have the more normal squared off cabin top. Mine cabin top slops to the bow from the mast. Please let me know. The hull number is 49. Thanks

Sloping H33?

Ron: where do you keep your boat? I live in Baton Rouge, but keep my H33 at South Shore Harbor in New Orleans. There are four of the H33's at SS Harbor, none look like your description.

Yes, A sloping 33

I also have a '78 Cherubini designed 33 with the sloping fordeck. My hull number is 24. There are two like designs in my area. I love this design as the fordeck is safe and clean. Many of the Midget Offshore Racing Council boats (MORC)of this timeframe had similar designs. I have 6'2" headroom and don't really notice the slope effecting the interior accomodations.

Weither by luck or fate You 33' owners

The Cheribini 33, john designed her for his brother, the cheribini's had a semi custom boat building concern in New Jersey, call RAIDER YACHTS now when you make something for the family to prosper on and to be proud of, You do it exceptionally well, and John did, she came in two cabin shapes small racing or the conventional that you all have, she was designed to be an exceptional racer or racer/cruiser, and when warren Luhrs, decided to add a 33' between his 30 and 37, john had it already drawn out and tested, and so it go's, the 33 foot Hunter/Cheribini, is a dark horse, their price, to me is on the low end, people, now a days tend towards the fat floating condo's, but the gracefulness of the cheribini design, especially, the 33', has style those pig pens will never have.
