Winter and spring are the prime sailing months, but Florida isn't bad year round IMHO. Don't anchor near mangroves when it's still and things will work out. I've been here six years, and the no-see-ums still seek me out and have their way with me. This country isn't very pretty right now with the freeze damage, but we aren't shoveling snow, so it's all good.

Keep us posted when you head south!

Sweet grab rails! I'm interested in the rigging for the headsail. Is it backwinded in this photo, or is the 25 rigged diffeently than the 26? I'm always looking for new ideas...

Here is a better shot of the rigging of the jib boom. It was a day in October , bout 100 degrees and the Santa Anna winds had been blowing and Somebody just had to sail the last couple of days.

The moorning we went out the wind quit and the best speed was 1 1/2 knots.

The good part was that there was just one other boat on the lake, a ski boat. Yes, it was that smooth.

The sheet goes from the end of the boom to a turning block just in front of the mast then to another turning block attached to that 'U' bracket (for the mast raising system) that you can see on the port side, through the regular jib sheet 'bullseye' back to the cam cleat.

Nice self-tending setup. I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't have to take down the baby stays when we race so that the genoa sheets don't catch on the clips. I'll try not to let my wife see this rigging!
