Just Do It

A quick weekend, some elbow grease, and a couple hundred bucks in cleaner, primer, paint and she's looking good. It was not at all as hard as I believed it would be. If you're thinking about it - just do it.

Purchase list

Had a power washer - super easy - don’t get too close and keep on 30+ degree.

50 pack of green scouring pads. - used like three.

12 pack of painters tape - used 3

Total boat dewaxer - wiped a couple spots - didn’t really use it. May pay for that.

Total boat thinner - needed it. - paint got thick as soon as the sun came out.

Total boat topside 1 part primer - gallon and a quart for 34 footer - used it all

Total boat 1 part paint white. - purchased gloss unknowingly but now wish I ordered flat. Had a gallon and need more for second coat.

12 - 6 inch closed cell Foam rollers - wish I had smaller ones as well. Used most.

Foam brushes - garbage

Good brush to get around stuff - perfect

Half a day to prep. Half a day to prime. A day for one coat of paint. Need one more half day for second coat.

Neck gaiter since the back of my neck was burned - should have purchased.

I am by no means a professional at this but worked well enough.

I will also be recaulking as soon as it all dries.

Nice job, looks great. I wish it were this easy for all of us. I have several decades of many layers upon layers of nonskid painted on top of each other that flake off and need sanding back to the base. Problem is its silica nonskid so eats up sandpaper like Godzilla attacking Mothera! Took me an entire day just to do my hatch/doghouse companionway thingy.
