I think it may have been around $40,000. Adjusted for inflation, that would be about $100,000 today.
MRSP for a 2015 Hunter-Marlow 31 is $118,000. Our Cherubini Hunters are more spartan in comparison, easily accounting for the $18k delta.
The original price for a Hunter 30 in the (debut) 1973-74 model year was $19,995. I know this because I did the displacement calculations and arrived at 10,002 lbs when Hunter wanted it in at $2.00/lb and under $20,000; and (being 16) I kept reminding them they were $4.00 over budget with it.
In July, 1979 my H30C cost $27,000 (Including state tax) off the dock with an upgraded stove/oven, depth sounder and spreader lights. Scared the hell out of me when I signed the loan papers!
