So i'm at the boat on labor day weekend. Would I like to be saiing...yes...still haven't been able to get the cutless bearing fixed so I can't go anywhere, beautifull sunny day, Came down with a list of chores to do. Number of chores done ...0. Can't seem to get started. enjoying the boat..yes ...getting stuff done....no. Point of this post ...none.. except maybe trying t justify ...sitting back and just chillin...getting nothing accomplished...oh well...maybe tomorrow....

There is nothing wrong with taking it easy. The chores will get done. This is a holiday weekend, take a holiday.
Sounds like a perfect weekend to me.... your boat's greatest value is to provide a place to relax..... what you may be discovering is that it doesn't always have to be sailing. It's the reason I have my boat slipped in a beautiful, resort like marina.

There are times I go down to the boat and just flop down and read. She's there just for me and I do whatever she tells me to. As far as work, well......if I don't get it done then the next guy after me will.

Sometimes it's all you can do after a days work to just climb up in the cockpit of your boat on the trailer with a drink and just sit there as the sun goes down. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "yard sail."
however, It is raining here and we got our new asymetrical spinnaker Friday. I would really like to fly the new kite. guess captain morgan is an option
For me, "getting away" is all relative. . .middle of the bay, or tied up in the slip. . .as long as I'm at the boat "chillin" I'm happy 
And if I can talk myself out of working on her, even better. . .

104 outside, 120 inside the shop, but an evap cooler blowing.... Got 4' of topsides sanded, compounded, and polished lost 20 lbs... Just kidding on that second point. I wish....
Not looking at sunset, not sitting in cockpit, ( too close to radiant roof) but the beer after a hard days work on a boat tastes like that sip your dad gave you as a kid... Magic, hoppy, foamy yum....
I don't think I'm alone with the magic that comes from the moment after "I've been working for 8 hours with nothing but garden-hose water" when you crack the lid on your first celebratory beer after a satisfying day of work on the boat.
