73 ODay Needs Work
I owned a 74 ODay 27 that was just like the boat you bought. The surveyer described it as "needing lots of ships husbandry". He was right of course, and I spent the next ten years working on her. I must say yhat this was a most enjoyable boat the entire time I owned it. The boat is very easy to sail single handed, and is very stable. My deck also had a soft core. This is not an easy fix. The West System of drilling a series of holes, and filling them with epoxy works. West even shows you how to do it in their pamplets. Hope this helps you, good luck.
