Just a goofy question about the O'Day 22

Looking at I - Heart O'Days....it says that about 3100 22's were made between 1972 and 1983.....

If thats correct, the oldest would be 38 years old...the youngest..27 years old.. I didn't know they were basically made for 11 years....

It seems like a lot keep hanging on....

How many do you think are still out there?

How many do you think are still out there?

I was talking to Rudy Nickerson in his store several years ago about the O'Day sailboats and he showed me a large book with all the information on how many boat models were made between such and such years. The O'Day company in Fall River Mass only built about 300 O'Day 222s in 1986, but O'Day also had a plant on the West coast and built about that many 222s there also. When Rudy bought out all the parts and boat molds from the Fall River O'Day factory, he also got all their paper work. I would venture to say that there are more O'Day 22s out there than 222s. The O'Day 22s were a very popular boat years ago and they sold a lot of them.
